Depends on the make of the machine. Its usually a keystroke or else you'll find the info in the BIOS. Thats provided it has a recovery partition in the first place. Did you get CD's with the new machine?

You will need the restore discs that should have come with your computer, remember to back up anything you wish to keep before using the discs though.

Its a dell pc, and I dont actually remember getting a cd with it.

I have done factory reset on this pc already! I just cant remember how I did it!

Are you talking about a hardware settings reset? If its a Dell then press F2 (I think) when the PC bootups and it will go into the BIOS menu. One of the tabs there will allow you to reset to factory defaults.

If its a newish Dell and you didn't get CDs, there's a recovery partition. Are there any messages that flash up as its booting? F10 Recovery or anything like that right at the start? If not, I'd have a look in the BIOS. Again, it'll be a case of pressing some Function key or Delete.

try this ,when you restart, press CTRL+F11 at Dell logo. It will ask if you want to restore pc to the way it was shipped to you

Yeah, I actually seen the CTRL + F11 on the dell forum and it did the job quite well! Thanks for your help guys.
