Stag in Strandhill

Hi all... Bunch of Dubs heading to Strandhill for a stag, we are heading out surfing on Saturday morning and then having seaweed baths, then heading for food and booze. We have all our accomodation sorted and will be hitting Strandhill after work on Friday. We are not a rowdy type, enjoy a few pints, a bit of banter and are all water sports people. Most of us have surfed with perfect day before, so sort of know Strandhill, but not really well. What pub opens the latest and is there any music, dancing of any kind?

    Thanks in advance.

The Strand is probably the best pub out their but you should head into town

The Strand is the busiest and therefore livliest. Countess is nice earlier in the evening and they do good food. The other pubs are good craic too but it's a long walk uphill to them. Strand has a late licence I think. Or feels like it sometimes:D
If you want to have fun stay in Strandhill, but if you want to go where the action is, head for town. Fiddlers, McHughs and the Garavogue all serve late and are busy on weekends. Club wise, the Velvet Room is the newest, biggest and busiest. It's very flash. Won't get in if you're drunk though. And go in small groups. Stags aren't always welcome around Sligo. Once you're in and don't wreak the joint, they don't care.
Have fun. Don't do anything you'd be ashamed to post:D

Thanks, great advice... I am sure we will have a ball, we are not really rowdy, just out for a good time. How much is a taxi from Stranhill to the town?

Too much. Dearest taxis in Ireland. About €15-16. Steep for a 15 min round trip.:(

ah... its a stag, once in a lifetime thing, there will be a few of us, I am sure the strand bar will sort out a couple of people carriers for us.

Thanks for all your help gang... looking foreward to it.

Strandhill is a great village, you'll enjoy the surfing the and the evening pints, if you's want a niteclub velvet room is probably the best..

Get yourselves up Knocknarea the next morning, will cure most hangovers and there are some great views to be had... Don't expect the this bint to be there when you arrive.

She's an embarassment to the county. I thought Podge and Rodge would rip the p1ss out of her, but they didn't. I suppose they didn't need to. Look at her

Fantastic weekend, Tom in Perfect Day made it for us... few pints in the Dunnes on Friday, Surfing on Sat morning, seaweed baths after that (Dublin pack of women) Few pints in the Dunnes, Dinner in the Venue (reduced menu unfortunately, to many of us?????) Pub crawl to the sea and back up again.. we had an apartment in the Dunnes, dragged a pack of girls back and stayed up till about six.

Shame about Perfect Day surfing getting more or less bullied out, they have been dragging us to Sligo every year for years, loooking at Bundoran for the future.
