Just ordered a Dell 2407WFP, can't wait to get it.

However, I'll be needing to calibrate it, and I was wondering has anyone used any monitor calibration products? I've been recommended the new Pantone Huey but I hear some of the EyeOne products are good too....

    any suggestions?

I was looking at the Colour Spyder pro 2 a while ago. You could honestly charge a few quid for a spin on that thing if you shelled out for it. Your based in Dublin so could stick it up in the Services forum. There was a lad who offered something similar but when I looked I couldn't find him there.
It only makes sense to shell for one if you're going to be printing lots of shots. I couldn't really justify the expense as I don't even have a printer at all! (Long story).

You might want to check the license terms before offering a calibration service, at least publicly. I'm not sure about the monitor calibration setups, but I remember from discussions about camera profiling, which effectively uses the same technology, but at the higher end/price, that sharing the results was a strict no-no. Since it's the same companies involved, I can't imagine the policies would vary that much.

If you make any prints at all, it's worth having at least some calibration. Most monitors are too bright, especially laptops. The result is really dark prints when they looked fine on the monitor. I've been using Quickgamma, which is better than nothing, though I'm interested in the Huey. There's a Spyder Express available around the same price, which might be worth a look too.

Have a look at Colour Confidence, they've got just about everything at everyprice point.

mloc I bought this one Eye-One Display ProfileMaker Bundle from color confidence, its an excellent product, I had terrible trouble with black and white photos always getting colour cast, but since I got this my black and white images are exaclty as I want them when printed. It recommends that you calibrate your monitor at least once a month but I have'nt done it for at 6 months, still get great results.
