    Hi,

I have noticed the attached image effect on some documents I have been reading in work but I'm not sure what software package was used to create it! It is the tearing effect around the edge of the image. Does anyone have any ideas or used this before?

    Cheers.

I'm moving to Digital Art/Design forum. I think you might get a better response there.

It's just a brush effect in photoshop. When you select the brush, you get different sizes and different shapes etc. Then just dab or run across the page as you would with an actual paint brush.

Adding to Hank, create a new layer on Photoshop before doing that. Go to the blending options on the new layer containing the content and create a drop shadow and a 1 pixel stroke.

The only thing I'm not sure of exactly is the stroke as with such a cutout with a 1px stroke - would it give that effect?

Yes always use a new layer for creating effects. It makes it far easier to go back if you **** up. There are brush presets you can download or buy that would give this effect. I reckon maybe they used a thin vertical brush and just dragged across moving up and down slightly as they moved it.
