    How do i make my desktop wireless and connect to my wireless notebook?


    Will a usb network adaptor work (1 for about €40)

    Yea you can get a wireless card for your PC (USB or PCI) and then create a wireless link between the two. If you're planning on making link to move files from one to the other, and both have network cards, a crossover cable would be better as it will be much faster to transfer files.

    I assume this is what you want to do and you're not asking how to get PC onto a wireless network to access internet.

    Yeah just to transfer files between two.
    Getting a wireless router off eircom its in the post. (€90)

    could i join the two together through the router? with the destop connect by wire and the laptop by wireless.

    Ah if you have a router jsut follow the manual to get the two machines connected to it (wired or wireless).
