Help getting insured on a classic..

Well, I have finally made up my mind that a clapped out banger will not do for my first car, and I've decided to get a classic/retro motor..

The only problem is, I can't get a quote on one! I've restricted my dreams to thatof max 1200cc and still, I can't get insured. This is driving me mad! I'm not into 'modern' cars at all, and would love a nice mk1 golf / vw bus (although it's a 1.6 I'd be willing to swap the motor for a 1.2 beetle engine) / fiat 126 or something along those lines..

Does anybody know of a company that will insure a young driver (18) on a classic car? I'm not even looking for classic insurance, just to pay the usual thousands they want for a 1 litre 'modern' bucket, but on something that's got less performance but looks so good..

    Cheers,

    Wes
