What do people think of Jonathan Safran Foyer? Recently saw the movie 'Everything is Illuminated' and thought it was excellently done, very funny. Then I read 'Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close' and was a bit diappointed. Parts of it are clever and funny but felt like some of his 'techniques' were a bit gimmicky and the way the plot unfolded wasn't as neat as it might have been. Saying all that I did have a bit of a weep at the end.
