Garda Age Card Question

How long does it take from when you apply to get one at the station to the card arriving? The Garda said to me it'd take about 5 weeks and I've been waiting 6 weeks now almost. Does it arrive at your house or do you have to go to the station to collect it? I know some people who only had to wait a couple of weeks for their's to arrive but others had to wait like 2 months?!? How long does it take to put your pic on a card with your DOB and name on it?!?!?!????

I know people who it took 8 months for theirs to arrive.

The Gardaí have more important things to be dealing with ;)

I've applied for one of those twice and never got it. My little brother was waiting 3 months IIRC.

Well mine took 13 weeks exactly [not that I obsessively counted or anything >_> ]. It arrives to your house in most cases.

It really doesn't take as long as they say. I had to pick mine up from the local station. It took mine no more than 3 weeks and they gave me a call. Try calling the local station who can contact headquarters maybe something got lost along the way.

It gets delivered to your house. Mine took four weeks but I know of more than a few people who were waiting upwards of ten weeks to get theirs. You can't second guess when it's going to arrive.

Ok OP, I reckon you have your answer here. There seems to be quite a few people waiting some time for their age cards, so you may have to wait a bit longer or call the Gardai to speed it up a bit. Good luck with it.
