Question about tonight's Six One

I was just watching Six One and the main story related to the ceasfire in the Lebanon/Israel conflict.

The end of the report showed Tony Connolly at the site of one of the final Israeli air strikes. He held a microphone with a green cover and "RTE" in white lettering.

Is this because the regular blue lettering on white background could be mistaken for being Israeli?

It's possible, but I don't know. They would have other identification so that is hardly the thing that would distinguish them. Maybe they were out of blue ones.

I would say it's something to do with the newsroom revamp, but going on the sparce clues so far the new colours will be brown and white...

It may well be to distinguish RTÉ from an Israeli news team; I'm sure use of colour is amazingly important in places like Lebanon at the moment.
