Having just had my lovely Honda CBR600f stolen I need to buy a new bike

I'm contemplating either another CBR600 or an R1.

Can anyoen tell me a good place to go looking in and around Dublin for 2nd hand ones.

Also any advice on the best way to secure the bike to stop it from being stolen again.

    Thanks

Sorry to hear about your loss - It's a major pain in the hole when that happens.
Bikes in this country seem to be more expensive than the equivalent in the UK or the continent - even after paying VRT (see www.ros.ie). The sellers don't seem to factor in depreciation. Plus bikes in this country are not subject to NCT (MOT).
A big mudder of a chain and a solid immovable object to chain to seem to be the best deterrant.

    Capital Motorcycles,
    281 Harold's Cross Road,
    Dublin 6W, 4910441

Or I can make a phone call or two if you like? Maby be able to get a better deal.
But I would reccomend Capital when I bought my bike he gave me the lock and chain for free along with discount on my Helmet and Armour.

sorry to hear about your bike.
the place you work is it close to any of the shops/banks on morehampton road if so see if there's any camera's that might over look the drive way.

you'll get robbed again if you buy a bike out of a shop over here (but there are the odd few deals around).
if I was you just pick up something in a private sale (can be alot cheaper then shops) that'll do you for a while until you go back over to the UK or have the time to go back over. As you probably know the bike over there are alot cheaper and in better condition.

anyway here's a useful guide for buying used bikes

Does it have to be somewhere in Dublin?
Meskells (http://www.meskellmotorcycles.com) in Limerick offer good value for money in parallel imports..

Please use English not "text speak".

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

I thought Capital Honda is now on Sundrive Road. Whatever it is, that dealership has a reasonable range.
