rake $12k in any 30 day period and get a 6kEuro EPT package...
Anyone know how many hours would be needed 3/4tabling shorthanded 1/2 or 2/4NL games to reach this target?

According to the Rake calculator I use, if you 4 Table 1/2 for 12 hours you should generate $1,296 in rake. Therefore if you 4 Table 1/2 for 120 hours, you should generate ~$12k in rake.... Therefore 4 hours a day for 30 days should come up with this...

Is it 12k in 30 days, or 12k in a calendar month?

after sending 50 emails to "support" as the wrong t&cs were up they finally changed them - its 30 days, and once you get a package you can instantly start on the next one.

Ive played 150hours of cash on Tribeca...5k hands each at 1/2,2/4 and 3/6 all 6max games also(ie more rake paid). Ive "only" paid $2500 in rake. I do multitable, max 3games,sometimes 2. This all from PokerTracker btw

Imho Ste's calculation has to be off by a lot...or else tribeca rake is very low! I think the virgin thing is aimed at 5/10 nl players. You gonna go 4 it Oscar? I dont think Virgin supports PT

Yea, Im gonna go for it, will probably go halves with someone and play in alternate events. I spoke to someone in Virgin and she said Id need to multitable at those levels but it should be doable, will prob 3 table 2/4 to start off with- the software is horrible

Well they're not my calculations, I used the Rakerebatereview calculator.

One thing that you should find out though Oscar, is whether or not the RB is calculated based on "Contributed" rake or "Dealt" rake. It'll make a HUGE difference...

What network is Virgin on and you can normally tell based on that.

going by my stats it would take 110K to 120K hands at 1/2 NL 6 handed. I'd have to play 8 hours a day for 30 days straight to hit that number.

EDIT. Actually I think I'd have to play all day every day.

virgin is on the 'bosstravis' network i think.

Well then it's contributed RB, and in that case 12k in rake in 30 days, is probably impossible at 1/2, very difficult at 2/4.

In case anyone's interested here's how I worked out the calculations above... (using the calculator linked above on the rakerebatereview site).

Based on 12 hours, 4 tabling 1/2, 6 max tables, you'll earn $324 RB (@25%) so if you multiply this figure by 4 (to give 100% Rake paid) comes out at $1,296.

Then if you multiply this figure by 10, it gives you a total of $12,960.

Although I'm not sure what rules they use for their calculations, but I'd say it's based on Dealt hand RB (which will inflate the RB figure when compared to Contributed - and hence make more people sign up).

I did another calculation using "Thisisthenuts" Calculator, and using the Calculator for their Celeb Poker offer (same network) (@ 30%) you'd need to play about 4,000 hands a day to be paid ~$4k a month, so that would work out at about 120,000 hands in a month to generate $12k in rake.

in the highlighted t&cs above it says gross rake if that explains anything?

I'd say it just means 100% of rake paid (and not any RB they offer, i.e. 30% would be your Net RB) and the way their system is set up for each account would be based on the Contributed Rake method. (As each account on the Network is paid RB based on the same method)

If they calculated the accounts using this offer on a dealt hand basis, it would mean that they would be double paying Rake Back to some players.

To try and explain this: All accounts on the Network are Contributed Rake based, where as, if they gave your account a % of the rake in hands where you don't contribute to the pot, then the Rake for that hand would be divided between the Contributing Accounts and you'd get a % of this on top of the rake distributed among those players.

Kind of hard to explain this properly. And I'm not sure if this is making sense. I suppose the simplest way to explain it is to take an example. Say a hand is raked $3, and Seat 1,2,and 5 contribute to the pot. This $3 is divided amongst the 3 accounts accordingly, and the other 3 players at the table don't get any of the rake attributed to their account. So if you're account gets a % based on a Dealt hand basis, then they'd end up losing money.

Because say Seat 1,2,and 5 get $1 each attributed to their MGR (33% each), and you got (16% as a player dealt into the hand) then they'd be allocating 116% of the rake for that hand.

One other thing that will make a slight difference, the shorthanded tables are 5 max. Theyre going to email me how much I raked in my first 2hr session of 2 tabling 1 1/2 and 1 .25/.5 game - theres feck all game selection and Im trying to get used to the terrible software.

Ste is CelebPoker defo same as Virgin? if so this aint worth it at low levels Oscar, specially with poor table selection and the **** software. Keep me updated with what they email you back as if its achievable at 2/4 I would go for it myself

In 2 hours at the above games I raked $79, so I figure 4 tabling 1/2 would generate $100 p/h so thats 120 hours in 30 days, less if I play some 2/4 or 1/2sterling
