    Hey,
I'm just after pruchasing a new laptiop an Acer Aspire 3004WLMi.
Everything on this laptop suits my needs except the memory ( only 512mb ) I put together a few desktops but I've never touched a laptop tbh. I've been looking and replacing RAM on a laptop seems to be quite easy. I'm just wondering if someone could give me some help on what ram to buy etc? I was talking to a guy in laptopsdirect but he said he wanted £113 to upgrade the memory to 1256mb ( it's got 2 256mb sticks at the moment )
I found this a steep price for a GB of ram so i'm just wondering if anyone knows somewhere else to buy from? Tried complete but when I follow their crucial wizard I'm given much the same info.
    Thanks

Does the laptop take DDR or DDR2 ram? You may find this surprising but PC World sell DDR2 ram pretty cheap, at least, equvilent to online prices - I got 512MB of DDR2 ram for my laptop for 50 euro, and as far as I remember a gig was 90 euro or thereabouts - pretty good for a bricks and mortar store.

As for replacing/adding ram, its even easier then on a desktop. :)

It's taking DDR SDRAM. Ya I was looking at replacing the ram and I was well suprised, just one likkle screw. I don't have a PC world in cork though. I remember a shop like memoryonline uk or something that had lots of memory

All your memory needs! and very cheap postage plus you can search for your model of laptop to make sure the ram is 100% compatible.
