Just got the first season recently after seeing ads on Sky for the second series and watched the first 5 episodes (season 1 in the US) yesterday while recovering from the beers the night before (I may not have been drinking but it was a LATE night!).

Overall I'm quite impressed. It's a little predictable at times but they handle the multiple story lines quite well and I'm enjoying what I've seen so far.

Little annoyed with the season 3 opener.
Killing off Lily? I presume the actress must have wanted to leave, but still, for me it was just tossing out a character they had developed the last 2 seasons.

And what about last season's finale where we see Jordan Collier alive? They only mention we got was when that guy from Deadwood had a picture of him.

    Otherwise it wasn't too bad.

The season develops quite nicely, with nice twists and interesting revelations throughout.
    Collier
    doesn't reappear until episode
    11

Series 1 is available on cdwow.co.uk for £16.75 (about €25) so I might purchase. Would yee recommend it?

For a 6 episode season (4.5 hours), thats not great value for money.... Its £13.99 on play.com.

It might even be cheaper in Golden Disks/HMV. Seriously.

I've loved it since season 1, I was happy that they opened season 3 with a double bill. I enjoyed it, straight back into the swing of things from where they left off.
    Pitty
Collier doesn't reappear until episode 11, but it was forced on the writers

    Don't know.. while i like 'The 4400'.. i don't REALLY enjoy it!

I find acting quite weak at times.. occassionally these one-ended storylines that are more frustrating that some of those in 'Lost'.. and i just don't feel attached enough to the characters to care for what happens to them.

Haven't seen the last 3 episodes though.. haven't gotten round to it!

Ah but there is more of a sense of some kind of an overall plot than Lost. And I get the feeling that 4400 doesn't take itself as seriously. Or maybe I don't take it so seriously, which is why I can enjoy it (?).

I liked the first series, and am on ep 3 or 4 of the second series at the minute... But I haven't really heard anything about it before now (my friend had been telling me about it and lent me the first two series'). Has it been shown on RTE or anything yet, or just on Sky? And how many eps is it into the 3rd series?

Its just on Sky as far as I know. In the States, Episode 11 from Season 3 has just aired (with 2 episodes left in the season).

On Sky, I think they just started Season 3.

I like this programme a lot. I find the fact that they mix sc-fi with "so-called" real events quite interesting - maybe thats why I like Stargate too. Its not all out-and-out sc-fi like, say Star Trek.

The first 2 series were very good - just watched the first double episode of season 3 - looks like its shaping up to be a good one. :D

I like it a lot. They always give answers. I guess the main problem is that it's only a 13 episode season, like a HBO show .. but it feels like it doesn't have the budget or scope of a HBO show, it feels like a normal American show. It's still very good though, and they do try and explain most things, usually not leaving plot holes. Episodes 10 and 11 were very good
A shame Collier only reappeared now but at least he did, I was getting worried that he wouldn't at all! The explanation for why they were brought back to 2004 was also good.
