    Hey all,
My mates and I are planning a trip away in February. I came up with the idea of going skiing. My mates all thanked me for coming up with it. Problem: We were thinking of costing the trip away at €300 approx. Do any of you know where the best place for a skiing holiday in Europe would be, bearing in my we are all ski-virgins. I am not talking about sliding down the worlds highest peaks, just something simple and fun. I have a feeling a skiing hoilday is beyond our budget..

    Thanks,
    Jeff

On 300€ you can forget it. Flights and accom is easily over that. Ski hire is another 100ish, lessons another 100+, not ot mention spending money when there. I'd hazard a guess that it'd be a struggle to come in under 800 without spending money or the cost of th clothes you need before you go.

+ lift pass at another 100+ as well.

Andorra would be one of the cheapest places that you could find though, but your not likely to find it at the cheapeast in February. The last few years I have managed to get cheap deals for around the middleish of March to Andorra and Bulgaria but we only tended to book these about a month or less before going which always tended to find us cheaper prices.

Well this february we went snowboarding to Livigne in Italy and it was excellent. We are student as well and we got everything for 650. The resort was very good as well, lots of beginner slopes and plenty and advanced ones as well. That price did not include ski-school though, we just kind of thought ourselves. Two years ago we went to Souze Doux (forgive the spelling) which was 660 not including ski-school again. I would reccommend Livigne though, they slopes are much better and it is on the Swiss border so the whole place is duty free and so is well cool. Hope that helps

Prices aren't as bad as Robin and Imp have outlined, but they are right 300 is not enought, Andorra seems to have the cheapest packages for Ski Gear/Lift passes/Lessons and they cost about 200 for them all. hotels will probably cost 400+.

300euro can get you a lot though. Last January I went to North Italy on a ski trip. Return flights to Milan (Boario) with Ryanair were 100 euro. Got a package with ActivityBreaks.com which included 3 nights B&B in a 3*** hotel in close town (hotel was quiet but lovely staff who we actually got to know, town was quiet but with one very good Irish bar). Bus collected us everymorning to bring us to the slopes for €2 (25min drive) and home for same in evening.
That package only cost €200 and included slope passes and ski hire; which actually saved us a good bit (20 euro a day ski pass, 8 euro a day ski hire). WE hired 2 hours lessons while there for only about 10 each.
Full package less than 350 (€30 hire of ski cloths before left as well)
If you need any more info ask away, have it all somewhere

The cheapest I've ever done it is

    €120 - flights DUB-LYS
    €70 - coach transfer airport - resort
€105 - 7 nights self catering in appartment beside slopes + 6 day ski pass
€80 - Hire of skis, poles and boots
    €120 - 6 x 3 hour lessons

This was for Les Menuires in France.
