    Howdy,
Any one got any thoughts on this camera?

I'm looking for something not too expensive (you can get it online for around 360euro) and with good optical zoom.

    Review and specs here: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sonyh2/

    Cheers for any pointers/suggestions/other cameras.

Hmm, looks good indeed. Couldn't go wrong with that I'd say. Nice ISO range, nice lens, high enough quality to get decent sized prints from. Seems to have a good battery life too if DP review is to be believed.

I have this camera for around 4 months now and I would recommend it highly.. The zoom is excellent, quality of prints superb and overall a very easy camera to use.. Fits nicely in you hand.
Battery life is excellent for a camera of this level and quality..
Its the perfect camera for in between the point and shoot and Digital SLR Range

I have a DSC H1 for a good while now, while I can't comment on the picture quality for prints(as I haven't printed a single one) but the picture quality pretty damn good. It's very sturdy, feels like you could crack someones head open with it and it would still work. The zoom is great if you can hold it still enough, and the camera itself feels great to hold. I got around 320 shots with a single set of 2500 mAh batteries using the viewfinder, apparently that's better with the H2.

A few issues I have with the camera, and from what i've heard none of them have been resolved with the H2, purple fringing, start up time and a very clunky menu system.

I'm happy with it, it's one hell of an upgrade from the old compact I had.

Was considering this myself. Why would you buy this over a D50 or 350D and kits? The Sony is probably more expensive, but the quality is impressive.

    The D50 with 18-55 is €581.
    The D50 kit with 18-55/55-200 is €831

    Whereas in B&H in NY
    The D50 with 18-55 is €546
    The D50 kit with 18-55/55-200 is €621

So for the base kit Argos isn't that bad! Amazing.

I want to get a H2 Camera too. The camera is €500 in the local Sony Centre Store. I have a brother in Boston at the moment and he will be home in 3 weeks. Would it be worth getting him to buy the camera over there for me?

Does anyone no any good camera shops in Boston are can the recommend a safe/reliable place online. Don't want to have to pay Customs either.
