Got Sky HD last week, and HD ready TV, Sony 32S2010.

Was flicking between the SS1 and SS1HD channels during the Chlesea v Liverpool and preceding Football League match. Quality quite noticably better on HD, although irritatingly there's about a 5-second delay on SS1HD.

Overall, HD sports programmes are definitely a step up from SD broadcast on the HD TV. But something like Prison Break as an example as an SD broadcast is excellent quality as it is. From the quality of their HD previews, I'm particularly looking forward to BBC output expanding.

As an overall TV experience though, across the board, the jump in quality between CRT and HD-ready LCD is not what it's being hyped up to be, and I speak as someone who is susceptible to hype :o .

There was no hype about CRT to HD LCD, a good CRT at 32" would outperform an LCD in SD easily. As for HD, well to see a real difference you should really be going 37" plus. A good thread to follow would be
