Maybe a fairly basic question but is a RGB>S-video Convertor the only way to provide a signal from Chorus Digital STB to MCE ?

Have tried a host of adapters and cables I had in the house and none have worked so far.

    All help appreciated.

    Thanks

a scart to composite lead should work, but i am only guessing. (it works with a digibox).

Maplins have an RGB scart to S-video converter which i am using with a digibox, but it does not work well with all GFX cards. I am currently using it with an Nvidia Geforce 6600 and it works perfectly but my last PC had an ATI X300 Radeon card and on had frequent 'white outs' on bright pictures.

Tried a lot of cables (Scart to s-video, scart to composite or s-video adapter) and none provided any picture. Works ok if you go through a VCR but then loose a lot of functionality.

Have the Rateon card, x300, so maybe some problems if i use the Maplin converter.

    Thanks

Its not the only way, but it is the best.

That said you should get a signal on composite. Id try the outputs on the box on another piece of hardware (IE VCR, TV etc) before continuing.

I got a RGB>S-video converter from Maplin. I only got sound but no picture until I changed the setting on the Digibox from PAL to RGB.

I tried one of these but only got a Black and White picture.

Sounds like I should be getting some sort of signal even without a converter. Probably best to sort this before making the investment.

    Thanks

The Way I have my Chorus digital box setup is,

STB -> SCART to Composite, L/R Audio convertor -> Hauppage PVR 150MCE Composite L/R audio input ports-> ATI video card SVideo outout -> SVideo to composite convertor (reason for this was the TV would only get black and white without it as it doesn't natively support SVideo) -> Composite & L/R audio from sound card to SCART convertor -> TV.

Works well, picture quality does me fine.
