Can anyone who lives here or knows Newbridge well tell me what its like to live in the housing estate, The Oaks? or What kind of reputation it has around Newbridge?

    Thanks

I dont live in the housing estate, but do live in newbridge.

It had at one time a reputation of being a bit of a "LA Di Da" estate, and still is kind of seen as one of the better estates.
Now "The Elms" which is behind the oaks and adjoined to it seems to have taken tha mantle of "La Di Da".

And its in a fairly good area of the town, away from the pubs and that so its fairly quiet at night

Looking at doing the same myself. Any more opinions on the Oaks?
    Did the OP move there?

If so what it like, if not why?

    Hi,

I moved in approx Nov-07. Houses rock solid and the estate is fine for me. It's pretty quiet on my road. I'm in the older part so some people are the there quite a while. People seem to keep themselves to themselves, but then again, I not gone out of my way to mix.

You may get a better response if you post your query in the Kildare forum.
Please don't go dragging up 3.5 year-old threads Thanks.
