I was struck by inspiration and had to go set up a little something in the spare room at about 3am last night...

    Requirements:
    • A CD,
    • clip light,
    • extension tubes,
    • tripod,
    • oh - and a water spray bottle ;)

Do you think that the curve in the upper right corner of the third one ruins it?

Anyway, it was great fun - I just thought I'd post it on here to maybe give someone else an idea if they are bored and stuck in the house.

The second one is absolutely incredible imo.

the diffraction from the cd is really nice, gives some nice colours. particularly with the added water diffraction, maybe try throwing some oil into the water?

Cool inspiration ,nice work ,I like the second one myself the most.

Water holds a lot of secret's I've always wreckoned ,I think some lenses act in the same way the way they bend light.

    Nice one.

Cheers feylya, I think that one may be my favourite too...

I was considering using some random liquids that I usually apply to my hair, to see if it looked any different.

Brian, you have to see if you can find some marbles, I'm definitely into that idea now - different sized/coloured ones on a mirror sounds fab I think.

Rymus - you should go ahead and get a couple. Loads of fun in the wee small hours of the night!

I'll invest in a couple of the more brightly coloured ones as soon as I get my camera back :D

Oh, sorry, I forgot about that. Is it going to come back alive? Is it going to leave a large dent in the pocket?

come back alive eventually... and pocket dent wise, I'm expecting a crater alright.

    No.2 ftw
And the curve in the upper right of the third one adds, not detracts from it.
