    I'd rather you did too.

OP: Boards has more than one forum. Have a look around. You might find somewhere better to post.

depends on which type, the kind thats sold in the north is alot different, not as nice, not nearly as thick. when times are hard, buckfast is the way to go.

Buckie fan here. Don't drink in general that often, but when I do, a bottle of buckfast is always in the mix. It's become very much so a cult drink...and the price raised which is kinda unfortunate! I've seen it for over 12 quid in some places!

Down in Waterford, it's known as 'Sauce...lol, quite suitably!

It's a perfect party drink though, lots of sugar, and a wine %age of alcohol. And may I suggest a 4:1 mix of buckfast to southern comfort for a long night out!

The other night a friend of mine and me got a bottle each, didn't really think it was anything wild, Just washed it all away with good old scotch ;)

Ah, good ol' Pukefast. Drinking enough of it gets you drunk in a mellow, pleasant way but if it comes back up, your puke will be very strange colours indeed (have a look at Sarky's sig for some idea).

this is what i drink for a good night out, it really grows on you, i love it now and i'm wired for the night on it.

Everyone's first bottle of Buckfast is a struggle, so I'm not surprised to see so many people saying it's rough. If you can force the first couple of bottles down, you'll never look back! :) It's beautiful to drink with a few smokes. I LOVE THE STUFF (and it's good for ya too).

buckie is great, full of caffinee too... 15%
its not a price thing, its for the buzz ya get off it that i drink it
i usually get a bottle with a few cans (and would still buy it if i had a billion euros in the bank too)
great for sessions too, keeps ya goin! (and puts hairs on ur chest)

Lol, its most certainaly not good for you, burns your teeth, liver, soul and dignity.... but it's a handy aul drink.

I would rarely just drink buckie on a night though...too much is not a good thing.

First time is a definite "ughhhh" experience, but it really will grow on you.

The ole tonic, it got me through manys the skint student night. The taste thing certainly is a barrier but anyone looking to drink it to expand their palate is looking in the wrong place.

The bottom line is it's cheap, turns you into a maniac who thinks "Sweet Child of Mine" is the absolute height of musical perfection and is generally to be ignored by those who are weak of stomach, bowel or faith.

Has anyone noticed the number along the bottom, that some people were adamant dictated the sweetness of the bottle have disappeared?

There have been some other threads that lauded the virtues of Buckfast. They all end the same way, which is in contravention to the charter. This one did quite well, with 17 posts before an intervention...
