    the flame doctored
    in a dry corner
    shielded from the wind
    must be steady

    drinking fuel
    to dance with out faltering
    rationing
    to make the journey

    preparation starts the clock
    and hesitation means less oil
    we can retreat to gather more
    rubbed between the tips of fingers
    pulled from tangled hair
    pinched from fallen seed
    pressed from honey comb

    the flame is burning
    I am nauseated with doubt
    I must get out
    I must get out

    I'm intrigued by the first two lines, and I really like the 'pulled, pinched, pressed' alliteration...
