    Hello.

    I have a dell inspiron5160.
It's making an atrocious amount of noise (I let it fall), when I turn it on, and then it shuts up completely.

#1. Is it advisable to try and fix this myself?
#2. Where is a good spot to get it fixed?

If you take a part the laptop or just see where the offending fan is,you maybe able to replace it by finding its part number and ordering one of ebay.Probably best to bring it too a service centre and see what they can do for you.

If its under warranty send it back to Dell, if not then get a quote from them first on how much it'll cost you to get it repaired (probably a good few squid).
