    I have a Dell that has 6 DDR2 slots.
    2 of these slots have 2x "DDR2 PC2-3200 • CL=3 • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR2-400 • 1.8V • 128Meg x 64"

    question:
    can i add 2x "DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V • 128Meg x 64 " to 2 of the slots

or do I have to stick 2 only adding PC2-3200 memory to the machine
(ie can you have modules with different speeds in the same machine & does it make much of a difference?)

I think it will run at the speed of the slowest RAM.

It is unlikely that your board will accept that frequency range...

post ur dell system name..it's obviously a precision but if i know the exact model i can pull the tech specs..most of the dell motherboards will accept 400/533/667mhz memory but it will run at the slowest memory speed

    not a bad first post:D

thanks guys that answers my question anyway
I will just stick to the PC3200 then
pointless putting faster memory in for it just to run at PC3200 speeds (even if the boards allows for it)
