Having problems with port forwarding..

Installed Vista last week alongside XP as a dual-boot but am using Vista as my primary OS.

But for some reason.. i just can't get my BitTorrent to work to it's full capabilities, especially as uTorrent says my default BitTorrent port 6881 is not open.

I did update the firmware on my router (Netopia Cayman 3347W) last week but it was working fine before this. It may be the new version of uTorrent (which i've read some people are having problems with).

I've unchecked both uPnP on both my router and BitTorrent and i've set my default port to 6881. And i've set a new custom service on my router port forwarding ports 6881 - 6889 with base port being 6881.. and TCP protocol. But for some reason (which didn't happen before the install), it's asking me to select a device from a combo box. One being the IP Address of the wireless connection on the laptop and the other being "Basquille"... i haven't a noticed what this is. Don't have any PC's named Basquille or anything like that.

Could it possibly be the two OS's conflicting or something like that.. am stumped!

    Anyone any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

PS - i know some people reckon that ISP's are starting to block their default ports for BitTorrent but 6881 worked fine before all this.

Dunno if Vista might be the issue here, but if it's just that you aren't setting up your Port forwarding properly go here http://www.portforward.com/

Obviously if IRMA ask, you did not hear that from me ;)

BitTorrent will work on any port, so you should pick something random anyway, just so your ISP doesn't see tons of 6881 stuff.
