Reasons why I would like Cunningham to win.

    1)
It proves a pro can still win the WSOP - Which in turn makes it mean more when an unknown wins it - But if unknowns always win it... It will loose it's cachet.

    2)
Because I don't want Jamie Gold to win it.

    3)
And this is the most important. Cunningham is sponsored by Full Tilt - So it would put an end - at least temporarily to Pokerstars claiming the exclusive rights on world champions. - They're the pedigree Chum of the poker world.

Yeah, Cunningham for me too. But, jesus, the standard at the final so far seems to be terrible- someone limped QJo UTG, Gold has been check-min-raising, there's been a lot of limped pots pre-flop, a lot of poor flop play.... I know it's great that "anyone" can win it, but winning through crappy play really pisses me off.

just be thankful a partypoker player didn't win it

    4. because it would be good for poker. moneymaker, raymer and hachem all did a good job at representing the game and bringing new players in - cunningham would also be a good cleancut player to represent the game for the next year

He just lost an all in showdown to Binger, when holding Qs Js against Ah Qc
    flop came down 6c 3c 8c, turn 5s, river 7s

Pretty sure Hachem was a pro when he won it. What kind of pro are we looking to win this. A cardplayer approved pro or someone who makes a living playing poker or just a big name?
Gold looks like a twat but to be fair people have been very quick to jump on the anti-Gold bandwagon after some snippet based info.
Agree standard was awful from most at the FT.

What I mean I guess is someone we've heard of before they win the WSOP. Hachem was rumoured to be an Aussie pro... and may have been the Barny Boatman of Australia for all I know. But Cunningham already has a track record. at least I had heard of his before last years WSOP.

Interestingly I've read that Gold is a pro. But having looked up his results their just the equivalent of the monthly Fitz SE tourneys that he's cashed in. barring an early 12th I think it was in a WPT event and a $56K 1st place in another tourney. So kind of equivalent to the kind of wins a lot of plyers on here have. Plus he's clearly got the money to buy in to these events.

We'llo see how he pans out... But it's interesting how his style differed from Andy's last year. Would have loved to see Andy take him on.
