    Hi guys,

I am new to the wonders of broadband. Have a g5 mac, which actually till now wouldnt work with dial up, think it is a common thing. Anyway, I got wireless broadband installed and was wondering if anyone could recommend a router or what I need to do to have net access all over the house rather than just the one spot

    Michael

I have a pair of Asus WL-500G's set up in 2 different houses, but I would actually not recommend them, as I've had some problems with them over the last year.
    Dunno if that helps

I would recommend the Apple Airport Extreme. I am using one myself now. It is a lovely looking piece of hardware but it does the job of extending the wireless network all over my house. I have located mine in the attic (more is the pity its so pretty) and it gives me coverage all over. I live in a Bungalow with concrete walls throughout. The thing I like about it is that it also has a USB port on it which supports wireless printing. ie you connect your printer directly to the Airport Extreme. Extreme is 80211g compliant. Visit Apple .ie to see item. They are expensive here but are good value in USA considering exchange rate!! Your G5 may also have an Airport card in it as standard.

I have a 3com wireless router, which I used to use from the neighbours house about 10 meters away. I have it at home now, works better but was always great.

The Linksys WRT54GL is a good piece of hardware as well, I can recommend it.
