Well you dont want a mac for gaming.

However, for music or music creation, mac is the biz.

You gotta decide which is more important.

Go to any big club and the international DJ's will be using a mac.

Theres a good reason for it.

    I presume its Pro-tools, Reason & Cubase you're using to make tracks...........without a doubt, get a mac. :D

Everyone in the sound business has apple. All recording studios use apple mac's. Apple FTW

Incorrect!! You can install and run windows xp natively and therefore nothing stops you from booting into windows and playing your games. This is the set up I have with my macbook pro, and it works just as well as any other pc

Dual-Core 2 Xeons would want the X1900XT for gaming, as the 7300GT would be a huge bottleneck; and that's not cheap...
Also, I don't think the dual or triple 7300GT's would be in SLI, so no performance gains there.

Dell Dimension 9150 is the same hardware just a different box than the XPS...

    Much cheaper...

I'm running it with a 7800gtx, 3.2Ghz Dual Core Viiv and 2 gigs of ram.... works like a dream playing any game... even when i have a virtual machine running.

It uses two dual-cores Xeon processors. Much more powerful. You can add up to 16gb ram in a mac pro. Being able to have dual-boot with windows & osx is a great bonus now also. gonna set you back tho, mac's are not cheap.

Most music making programs are made for the mac Os then ported over to windows. There are less complications using them on a Mac and they are optimised more.

Macs aren't *that* vital for making music - there's actually far more software available for PC (except Apple Logic, sadly) and PCs can be just as good performance-wise. I use both for music production and I prefer the PC. Macs represent less value for money too, IMO

u can get great deals on dimension 9150's at the moment. The new 9200 which supports conroe is on the way in which gives you a big bargaining point with the salesman
