Hey guys new to this photgraphy lark but i thought i would post up a few photos of my ever photogenic 84 year old granny. She's completely nut btw :D but it makes for good photos. Anywhoo there may be nothing special about these photos but to me they really capture her spirit. So any comments good or bad would be much appreciated.

Number 2 definitely captures her character ( I think --- not noing her in person). She looks like a very engaging character and she obviously
was comfortable posing in front of the camera (which is always a bonus!)

The first one has more severe blown highlights and the last one has motion blur which can be effective on some occasions but here doesn't really make the photo.

The 2nd one has some blown highlights too but I'd say they are inevitable given the intensity of whatever light source (I imagine intense middle of day sunlight coming in from the right side as you look on towards her face).
    It's a nice photo nonetheless.

I should add about number 1 .. her pose looks like she is fed up.
I'm sure she isn't but it is an unfortunate pose and it tends to
give off a mixed signal to the viewer.

    Yes, number 2 definitely !

One and Two are very nice. I actually like the blown out highlights in the first one. 3rd is blurry though.

Go take some more of the lady :)

Thanks guys for the comments... i guess its a bit of a photographic faux pas but for some reason i liked the motion blur aspect to the 3rd photo.. (it kinda catches her mid giggle). But i know with the right settings i can get better shots out of her. If only she knew she was being discussed on a photography forum :p

Picture No.1 is my favourite. She looks fun/mischevious in that one. I would crop out the elbow in the right hand corner though - will focus more attention on your subject. Good work - keep uit up

I love picture number 1 way more.

The way she's looking at the camera is good.

She likes kind of crazy, and as if she doesn't really like you taking the picture, but she's letting you anyway. And that in a really likable way.
