Hi All, I'm in a muddle and confused, and hope you guys can elp.
trying to set up p-2-p (emule)
I'm using BT BB with a wireless Belkin connection to Netopia Router. Think I have configured the ports on the router (4662 TCP, 4672 UDP), but TCP test in emule fails each time. Im using windos firewall and have the ports sorted there as well.
How can i find out what IP address the router is forwarding the ports to and how can I change this, or where am I going wrong?
    Thnaks guys

Have you tried this with the windows firewall turned off?

At least rule out that point of failure...

It sounds like you are forwarding the correct ports... see if you can telnet to your public IP on both of those ports also.

If it is the same with the firewall turned off then we know it is the port forwarding on the netopia router.

You will need to get your public IP address from the netopia router setup page...

After you have this go to a command prompt and type

    telnet publicip 4662

This more than likely won't work because it sounds like the port isn't open...

Can you post a screenshot of your netopia port forwarding page?

    Hi sicruise,
Telnet failed....netopia router is one of those eircom branded things. It only allows port to be assigned in "NAT" settings but doesn't show the ip address, I've found the local and global ip addresses and used them trying to configure the tcp/ip settings in network connection, but no luck.

Thnaks for all your help. Finally solved it by reducing netopia firewall to low from medium.
