I was thinking about becoming a photographer.

I need to study, but where do I go?

I'm based in Carlow, but would travel if need be. It has to be part-time though.

Have you actually done any photography already - just going with your own instinct, or is it something you're just discovered the inclination for?

I would suggest if you haven't already, to actually start shooting and see if it feels right to you. I'm not professional by any means but as far as I can tell it's not much to do with what you study as your skill and experience - and most things can be learned online, or through books, magazines, and your own experimentation. There's a guy on here called Digital Beginner who does courses, although they are one day ones as far as I know they might be handy for you, and looks like he's doing them all over the country by now too.

Yes, I've done a good bit of photography, I've always took pictures, and I have experience in graphic design.
I would prefer to get a formal beginning, and get grounded in good technique, before delving into it myself.

A course similar to a Fetac Awards might suit?
