Nice set of interesting and well composer shots there OP. Keep posting and ask for any advice you need, thanks for sharing. :) The firework ones worked out quiet well, can always be tricky to capture.

    WOW - pretty impressive stuff!!
I too am a complete beginner at photography but I have to say that I would be dedlighted if I had taken any of them!! - I dare say that a few of the more experienced photographers on this site would be happy with a lot of them too!!

    Keep shooting & keep sharing!

I really liked the miami-vice one too - might be an idea to clone out the sun glare on the lower right of it. Some great pictures there - loved the chillin one and the abstract one too.

Thanks very for the comments everyone, I'm encouraged, which is a pleasant surprise...!!

I am a photography heretic and I bought an Olympus E-500 (here cometh the wrath of the Nikon and Canon users!!!) with the twin lense pack and also got a very cheap macro, wide angle and 3x telephoto add on kit which is proving very interesting for me and traumatic for hte flaura and fauna of the garden!!!

The fireworks look very nice. Fireworks can be tricky in terms of getting the exposure/metering / shutter time and white balance set correctly.
    You captured them nicely.

Interesting choice, the Olympus. Wear it well !

Thanks...I think the fireworks were more beginners luck than design...I only had the camera 2 days and I was just trying all the different settings and some of them worked out...

Yeah interesting is one way of putting it...I read all the reviews on the D50 and the 350D and the E500 and then just went and tried them all out...to be honest I reckoned for a complete beginner the differences were quite marginal and I thought I'd be unlikely to extend the camera to it's limits anyway...also DPReview gave it quite a good review so that, coupled with the fact that 500 was the one that felt the most comfortable in my hand and I liked the aesthetics of it kind of swayed me - a friend of mine has a D50 so there are constant 'discussions' on optics and lenses and all other things I'm only getting to grips with so a bit of diversity keeps it fun...
