... cos I haven't, but I'm intrigued by it (basically I've just heard that jolly old George out of Blackadder now plays a cynical, toughened, grizzled American doctor in it - class!) I plan to view it as soon as I can. Any recommendations (i.e. do watch it or don't)?

Watch it. Once you get over Hugh Laurie's yank accent it is very enjoyable.

TBH it is my goal in life to be as humorously offensively rude to people everyday as he is in that show. ;)

Series 2 is starting tonight on Hallmark BTW. It is on Eeery night at 9pm, repeated at midnight.

Many thanks, John. Don't have Hallmark but I know it's on Channel 6 and such.

I've seen the first and second series. Pure class.

It's one of my favourite shows and I can't wait till series 3 starts in the US.

Absolutely fantastic show... only started watching it earlier this Summer and watched the two seasons over about a month.

But it is truly excellent viewing - episodes do sometimes dip in terms of implausible storylines and such but Hugh Laurie just makes every scene watchable.

Really? I always thought Hugh Laurie's accent was flawless in it. Would have even assumed he was American having not seen BlackAdder and such.

Really like the 3 Stories episode - think it may have been the last or 2nd last one of season one.

They haven't shown it for a couple of weeks now.

I think C6 is where the really cr@p RTE schedulers go to when their contract is not renewed in Montrose. C6 dropped My Name is Earl in mid-series in favour of Trailer Park Boys.

Yeah.. seems to be a fan favourite.

And although most fans of the show would say different.. i really enjoyed the cliffhanger of season 2.
Yes.. practically the whole episode was one big lie but had a healthy mix of weird moments - Cameron and the surgery robot (), exploding balls (), eye's popping out () and of course, the horrific moment of House wreaking havoc with the surgery robot on the patient.

And also the two cliffhanger episodes near the end of the second season with
    Foreman at death's door
    were excellent too.

My favourite was one near the start of season 2 with the kid who had cancer ... I was seriously choked up at the end! :)

Serious? Pack of dumb-asses. Trailer Park Boys is utter tripe. Anyone know of another not-too-obscure station that might show House?

I bought the first series on DVD after hearing the hype about it, but I really can't get into it. I love Hugh Laurie too. To me, it just seems like every episode is this: Patient comes in with some strange condition. House and his crew talk medical mumbo-jumbo for a few minutes then test a few treatments on the patient. Patient goes into convulsions. Race to save the patient. "Ah, it's *insert condition here*, why didn't we think of that before!". Patient is saved. A small bit of one of the characters background is revealed. Repeat for the rest of the season. The fact that there's no subtitles on the region 2 DVDs really bothers me aswell, with the aforementioned mumbo jumbo taking up considerable screen time. Ah well.

Always remember House from Jeeves and Wooster, he does a good job here, I watch it fairly often.

I always remember the one with the boy with a bucket stuck on his head...oh wait, that was Dead Ringers..

I absolutely LOVE this show. It's so worth seeing. We were only able to catch it every so often on Hallmark, and then they ran it on Channel 6 for a bit but then stopped (definitely didn't run long enough to show the whole series), so we bought the first series on DVD recently and are going through it rather quickly. I'd say you should buy it and buy it now! :-p When the second series comes out on DVD in America, I intend on buying that too!
