I want to find out what type of ram is in my computer, I know it's either PC2700 or PC3200 but I want to know which, is there any software that will tell me, and preferably a small download as I'm on dial-up right now. Or will I have to go looking for a sticker on the ram that's there?

    Thanks!

The system BIOS should be able to tell you "Press DEL, F2 (whatever the key it is) to enter setup" when you power on your computer. Alternatively post up your make/model of computer and some of us can find out.

Try the Crucial Memory Advisor Tool or the System Scanner on the crucial site.

Also, Crucial's RMA and general customer service is 1st class!

Might try the BIOS in a while so, it's a Dell Dimension 1100 with a Celeron D, I can't find the invoice though and want to upgrade the ram, and there's no point in getting PC3200 if all I have is PC2700...

I found this: DDR333 and DDR400 memory runs at 266MHz when configured with Celeron 400MHz FSB processors here so if I follow right it doesn't matter which I put in because they'd both run at the same speed anyway?

    Your Dell uses PC 3200.
