    Hi All,

Has anyone tried and tested an open source alternative to Microsoft Visio?

I need the application to be able to read .vsd files... not just be a program with similar functionality.

    Cheers,

    Si

    afraid not mate.

been looking myself for ages, but haven't found anything that comes close to a visio replacement. fair play to an irish company for making such an amazing application - even if they sold out to the enemy (M$)...

I'm just getting by with using Gentoo as my base os, with an XP VMWare install - with MS Visio running there. Does the job nicely in fairness.

If you do happen to stumble across something - let us know too!

    Cheers,

I don't use Visio (dot ftw) but agreed: VMware is da bomb for those pesky Windoze applications you can't shake off. OziExplorer being my primary example.
