Is it meant to be 204px in height? :) You could resize it to 800x600 maybe. It looks a bit bright on the right hand side, maybe a bit of lens flare or something.

OK, its not he best, but I like the sharpness of the centre and foreground of the picture and the details on the buildings, pity about the bright lights. this version is slightly degraded, the original is on the Boards Photo Challenge gallery.

Camera - Sony Cyber-shot W30, set to 'Twilight'. No flash used.
Tripod - the other illuminated bollard.
    Lighting - local street lighting.
Edits - none other than useing MSPaint to degrade the file size.
Location - Rathgar Road / Grosvenor Road, Dublin 6.

Deafvision, I like the second one. Clear and looks pretty good, almost looks like there is a shine on the water tank (or whatever that is) when its just rust or peeling paint.

Victor, indeed a shame, if that vehicle was out of the way, it would have been a lot better. I wouldn't have minded the street lights. Not too shabby at all.

And to think all I was doing was taking a picture of the illuminated bollards. :)

Now you have no cars at all. 5 minute Ruu edit. You can obviously see where I was messing about with, could do better when I'm more awake. :)

Actually, while not 'bad', the B&W does it a disservice. All too often nighttime images are B&W or portrayed as B&W. The yellow street lighting makes it different. I was triggered to take these picture while sitting on a kerb, waiting for a bus. I could see the grit and the dirt and the cigarette butts. Unfortunately the bus arrived too soon for me to take the pic. But I'm happy with the above and another ('Rathgar Road 2'), taken from the nearest bollard in the first photo (compare the brightness of the bollards).

And while technically lousy, I like the swirly street lights on 'Rathmines Road'.

DeafVision, sorry for hijacking your thread. :)
