Lovely shots! I was in Valentia last Saturday but the weather wasn't great for photography. Got a few from close by over the weekend though. Flinky

    Ah, they have been anticipated...

Just had a quick flick through Valentia, you didn't disappoint ;)

The one with the fisherman, 'Gutted', was particularly impressive I thought. Cracking stuff.

Brilliant, the whole set is like a advertisement for the rugged West Coast of Ireland. Haven’t been down in that part of the country in years. That has just inspired a September trip. Thanks.

Some great shots there - especially liked the guy walking his dogs from a hiace homer-style the dog getting the ball looked like a shot from home and away (only better) and the seagull shots came out really well too.

Thanks everyone. I was a bit apprehensive this year because after five years going there I was saying what will I photograph this time. I don't plan pictures, just snap what I see in front of me. Many shots are similar to other years but I'm glad I got some new stuff.

Carrigman: No that shot is a total candid. I got some more too. A very funny sight, and that hill is mighty steep. I'm surprised it made it up. My 2 litre feels the strain.

I have a fair few more to work on and will upload soon. I have found working on them over the last few days theraputic (?) after my dad's death on Friday. Back to work tomorrow and that'll take my mind off things too.

I was amazed by the whole set, if they don't win awards/make you loaded there's just something wrong in this world.
    Congratulations.

Stunning shots there!! You do the place justice. Tis a lovely spot, I love just heading off from home and seeing where the Bug takes me... more often than not I ended up heading that direction. Great collection you have there on Flickr, looks like it was a wonderful opportunity for a time out, and I feel well deserved. Condolences on your loss. I hope there are things in your life which will bring you comfort.

Very bizarre - I was just down in my house there for the August weekend. You should have been down to the Pier in Portmagee on the Sunday evening, a fair few photographers and painters were around. Nice to see so many familiar faces in that flickr set as well :)
If anyone is heading down to Valentia for a photo-holiday, I'd heavily advise going fuschia photographing around Chapeltown and maybe walking up to the lookout tower on Bray head for some pretty amazing shots - you can see straight to the Skelligs on a clear day. Also, don't neglect the other local scenery around the Iveargh peninsula - Caherdaniel, Ballinaskelligs et al. are magnificent in the summer.

A thoroughly enjoyable set of photos. I'll try and pick some favourites
later but they are all of very high quality.

My condolences on the passing of your father.

I definitely look forward to the "faces" set.
