Tight or Aggresive or BOTH!

    Howdy,

Whats the best way to play. Be tight, bet strong hands, all in on nuts only OR bet on draws, bluff. I have found myself bluffing alot more recently and am unsure if this is such a good thing. I used to be so tight, just play strong hands, this meant I was winning and losing only when I am unlucky. Now I get caught bluffing and it puts me on tilt, bad humour. Good bluffs mind you but getting insane calls from idiots (don't make me go into it). I hear to be a really good player you need to be aggressive, is this true? I have won tournaments, got high finishes, made money from cash games playing tight, should I stick to this or should I start playing power poker? I have my own views but all you seem to know what ur at, so any feedback from all of you would be much appreciated and interesting to hear.

Its a bit of a vague question to be honest - I think a sensible tight game will get you quite far, online anyway, especially at low levels where most players are loose.
But you'll be eaten alive playing only the top5% of hands at say 6handed 2/4.

I would suggest find a style which a) wins for you and b) you are comfortable with. Then continually be looking for areas where you can 'tweak it'.

Don't bluff bad poker players, ever. Its just not worth it. They will call, no matter how strong a hand you're representing.

I'd describe myself as TAG, I play hard when I think I've hit anything that beats the villian(s)

Depends entirely on the quality of opposition. The key to any succesful session is to win the first two/three hands you showdown or at least lose to a suckout. After that your bluffs are likely to be a lot more succesful (I find so anyway personally). As for the loose/tight thing I like to play loose but sensibly. If I don't know by the turn card that I can win a pot (either with my hand or by betting) I'm pretty much so done with it.
