Irish Second hand market or buy from UK?

Going to go digital SLR this year. Have a wish list of items:

Canon 350D or Canon 20D (feature wise, either will do me fine, might have a look in the shops as 350D has a reputation for being on the small side to hold, mightn't matter to me - will see).

    Canon 50mm/1.8
Tamron SP AF28-75mm/2.8 XR Di LD
possibly 70-200/4 L USM (or maybe 70-300 4-5.6 IS USM).

Just wondering is there much of a second hand market for these in Ireland? Have been keeping an eye on www.adverts.ie and have seen the odd 350D. Also have been looking at www.buyandsell.net , but prices seem very high.

Do any of the camera stores in Dublin have much of a second hand stock and how are prices?

Thinking otherwise of buying from UK or possibly EU (don't want to go further afield if possible).

Would consider Nikon or Canon. Haven't done any research into Nikon lenses. Not sure what an equivalent list for Nikon would look like or cost.

But yeah, I will look at Nikon too :)

You can get a Nikon 50mm 1.8 for less that €100, one of the finest lenses they've ever produced.

I'm selling a D70 body only (used for less than 12 months, great nick except for obligatory sensor dust) for €530 incl p+p.
PM if interested, if not no worries :D just too lazy to put on ebay

2nd hand in Ireland are mostly overpriced. Have you considered the uk canon outlet?

Thanks for the offer Mark. Still in the 'just looking' phase. This can take a while with me! Don't forget to stick it up on www.adverts.ie

    Looking at Nikon lenses:

    Nikon 50mm 1.8 - good price/good lens, a non-brainer so
    Tamron 28-75/2.8 also available
70-200/300 lenses all seem pretty pricey. What would the Nikon equivalent be to the two Canon lenses I mentioned?
