Yesterday in a playin a deepstacked tourny, 10,000 chips half hour blinds. Blinds were 150/300 i had 12,000 villan has me covered. He limps from early position I make it 1,000 from mid position with queens, 2 callers and he pushes. He could have any pair or any two picture cards, I'd say im ahead about 80% of the time. Anyway I fold, the two to act behind me dont worry me.

My thinking was why put my life on the line in such a situtation when there is loads of play in the tourney and I'm under no pressure. I felt with that and the quality of the opposition it wouldnt be a problem accumlating chips. Also he is a unbeliveable lucksack.

Should I have called and shrugged it off if he was ahead or sucked out? Can people see where im coming from or am i just talking crazy?

Same guy called a pot sized bet on the flop with a gutshot because he taught there was value!!!

given your read on him, u have to call (and double up early and win the damn thing!!)

mind you I folded Aces the other day on a K high flop so I'm hardly one to talk....

Definite call given your read. There is no way you're good enough (or anyone) is to fold in this spot.

without the read do you call?

You cant win tournaments folding 80% edges, thats just stupid

without the read do you call?

that depends on my read! As the hand played out I would put a reasnable villain on AA KK AK maybe JJ and a small chance of a random bluff, and I might fold depending on how tight I consider his range. If his range is AA KK AK (and for some ppl it will be) then I think I would advise folding.

Some opponents will let you know exactly the strength of their hand. A small reraise will be AA, and a massive all in will be AK.

you wont always have an 80% edge though. if you were sure of the 80% youd obv call, but sometimes your 80% behind, or 50-50. no need to coinflip so early on either...

thats basically what im getting at...

With that read it's a call for me everytime. Without, it's a call nearly everytime unless it's against someone exceptionally tight (well just White Knight for that matter)

He showed Jacks after. I then played 5 1/2 hrs of very solid poker and had a above average stack, I reraised a guy all in with AQ he called with KQ and hit a king.

I folded QQ preflop 3 times and have been lucky enough every time to be be shown my opponents hand (to save me going on tilt thinking whether it was the right move)

Twice I was up against KK and the other time I folded to AQ. There have been numerous other times where I have thought about folding, but unless I m 90- 100% sure Im behind, I'll be calling.

In this situation the value is there to call and get an early double up which could make a huge difference. If he has the better hand, ul

I folded QQ over here in a cash game. First time I've done that but the action made it a fairly straightforward fold preflop. The americans watching (about 20 of them watching a 1/2 game?!) were absolutely shocked as was the guy who flipped AA.

With KK I probably go broke but I found out enough with my raise and reraise that I could get away from QQ.

i think its a definite fold, your squeeze played out of the hand imo
you have 2 ppl to act after you and the villian has showed tremendous strength regardless of what read you think you have
you have to give someone credit for at least ak and i wouldnt want to be coin flipping at that stage of a tourney with 30 min levels
