Hey all, I have a build up of old computer parts here from over the years. I have 3 fully "working" computers, 2 on Win98 and 1 on Win2k, and other miscellaneous parts. From reading on another post I got the idea of an mp3 storage unit. In all I have about 100 GB of hard drive but my ram is low. What would be the best way to establish these into such a storage unit?
    Regards
    Jer

To store mp3s all you really need is hard drive space. Reasonable RAM only comes into play for decoding, ie for playing the things. "Low RAM" tends to be a subjective thing - up till recently my main machine was a p3-500 with 256 megs of RAM and I found it plenty for playing any media I threw at it as long as I wasn't trying to simultaneously run Photoshop or a vaguely recent game. Running win98 you could happily play compressed audio and survive on a lot less - if the tracks aren't skipping, silencing or crackling you've got enough.
