not sure if you pick up what type of subjects i go for or not, but accordingly if you could recommend any digital SLRS, would be nice.
    thanks

First 5 or so, and a few others are excellent. If you're not sure of a subject, and it wouldn't be of great contraversy, just shoot, you can always decide after. :)

Digital wise, depending on your budget, I'd go with the Canon 350D or Nikon D50 (Nikon D70 if you can afford...or...Canon 20D), both are lovely cameras.

Quick look back...that first shot is great!!!

I really like the second and third. Third is a tiny bit over exposed.

Aren't the Zuiko lenses great? I'm assuming you took those with the 50 1.8?

Any idea what film was used for the last few colour park shots?

Best thing is you can build up a collection of excellent, cheap prime lenses and then just swap out the bodies if one breaks, or if you want to upgrade to one of the pro bodies (om-2 sp etc). My favourite film camera system by far!

Excellent photos - really love your style, especially the last few.

It's refreshing to see something vastly different than the usual Flowers, Bug Macros and Irish Landscapes that are posted here (no offence to anyone) :p

I'd also second the recommendation of a Canon 350D... Look forward to seeing more of your work when you go digital.

I dont know how many olympus lens are in your collection, but if you have a few, then you should definately consider the Olympus e500. A 4-3 rds adapter will be needed to use your old lens(s).
Otherwise, if you are going to eliminate using your old lens(s), then I would still tell you to consider the E500 (but then I'm slighlty biased) :D:D

btw, you get two lens with the E500 at the moment.;)

Just looking back on these, I really do like some of them!

You on sale at peoples photography?

hey, thanks alot everyone. Yeah it is Zuiko. Really need a wide angle and tele lense. Im using 160S for the park shots and leaving iso at 100, thats why there bit upbeat, same with the photo b/w the black and white ones, of the building.
Quality is really dubed down because of the scanner, pictures are much clearer in life.

Thanks again, and special thanks to you Fajitas, i think i asked about feild of depth a while ago and you and others pointed me to the right direction, think ive the hang of it now...

Never heard of peoples photography? ?

Regarding digital, i really need one just to get few good night shots of buildings etc [similar to your ones at the festival Fajitas!, on your flickr - superb !] maybe and good snapshots with different aperture settings etc, im being recommended nikon alot, id say my limits really near the 1k euro mark.

Peoples photography is a big photo exhibition in Stephens Green in 2 weeks! Er...Link is....Er...*googles* http://peoples-photography.com/

    (Damn that dash!!!)

100iso is a great choice, I know you don't like photoshop, but a simple bump in contrast/saturation could bring your pics back to their norm on the screen, but there's good colour in them either way.

1k would get you a D50 or 350D, might be a bit more kit with the D50 though. Possibly get the D50, kit lens and a 50mm prime? Be worth looking at anyways :)

You're DOF is pretty spot on I must say.

    Thanks re: Spraoi! :D

    alot of peop0le have 350 D.
can u sell photos at those exhibitions ? not sure if mine are really up there to be publicly displayed. i dont mind photoshop, i could take my photos to another level with them, but to me , id be fooling people, but if the audience was ok with it ;)

    pic1
    pic2
    pic3

1st one isnt scaled right, 2nd has been badly edited at bottoms but im just pointing out the color change, originals would be dull, this adds a new dimension but id love to get a holga and get a color flash and achieve those effects rather than photoshop

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,624 ✭✭✭✭Fajitas!

2 is excellent! The audience is ok, as long as the audience knows. Don't say it's not what it it!

Colour splash holga is only 40ish quid, go for it. www.holga.com for other packets. Those effects are moreso from cross processing than the flash though :)

man, there's some quality film has that I just love. Sometimes, ultra-crisp digital photos get a bit old. I love the old-school look.
