Lovely hurling lads, gonna buy that advanced warfighter tomorrow, I spent a while there searching the old net to check if it was co-op offline, I never really bought into the whole xbox live thing. My original xbox is modded so I never had the chance. Someday we will be able to mod the new one so I have no business online.

    Thanks

    Thanks

Xbox live is great man! 360 is wasted without it tbh.

Yep, I spend a good deal of time just on Live!, not playing games!!
But I have had Live! since it released over here and most of the games I play would not be half as much fun without it, not to mention all of the add-on's you can get for games like Oblivion, adds a lot more to the game.

    OK,

I assume I can buy some membership for Live in Game or something.
It is prob cheaper online, where is the cheapest place to get a membership for live.

You say add ons: How much does each add on cost and also what kind of stuff gets added on?

To get live simply select join xbox live on your dash, and enter your credit card details - Select a subscription 3/6/12 months. OR you can buy it in a shop, and enter the code. But credit card is quickest.

    The yearly sub. is €60

The add ons all cost different prices, for an example the 'chapter 2' for Ghost recon works out at about €15, where as the 'style pack' for PGR2 is about a fiver.

You buy Microsoft points, and then you use them to purchase what ever is available. I think it works out at 400 points for €5 or there abouts (someone correct me if it's wrong).

Go to ebay.com, dot com now, not dot ie, find one of the american 12 month subscriptions for about €30, and ask before you buy if you can have them email you the code instead of post it, an american code will work fine, and you'll save yourself €30!

Excellent advice lads, I will check ebay over the coming days to see if there is a membership code there.

Being realistic though, does it just become a money spinner from Micro$haft, is it worth it as I would imagine one could spend a few hundred on live over the course of a year.

So, Bascially if you pay for this content it is saved onto your hardrive ya?
If so, is there a way of transfering the add ons from your hard drive to someone elses?

Also what are the most expensive things on live?

It's the best thing about the xbox :)

Yes, when you pay, it downloads to your hard drive.

No way of transfering content from one to another, but you could store your LIVE profile on a memory unit, sign in on a friends machine, and redownload anything you have already paid for, for free. BUT your mate wont be able to play games, or use premium content YOU paid for on YOUR account.

What's the most expensive things on live? I fail to see the point of this question? The GRAW map pack is about €15, cheapest stuff can be -€1 (gamerpics and junk)

Most arcade games are between 400, and 800 points.

What is the Graw map pack, is it levels that you dont get with the game or just some guides? €15, unless it is levels it seems steep, for what appears to me, to be misc items.

I went live the first night I got the box about 4-5 months ago but I dont want to go on now incase they update any of my drivers/firmware basically anything that will jeopardise a future mod.

What appears to you is very little apprently, because the graw map pack (chapter 2) is a ton of new maps, and weapons. ;)
