    I suggest the 'DON'

I have heard he is known as 'Star' around Tralee, I think thats a bit colloquial, he is international now.

    The bomber is taken,
 and face it we dont want to argue with him.

Some other mope was trying to float 'The beanstalk' as in 'Jack and the... ' frickin childish, any ideas for this new talent, make it good as I think this one may be a legend

Hopefully very soon we can call him the Hasbeen or the One goal wonder. :)

How about ' The Import' ;)

Is that because of his Tyrone connections or his basketball skills? There are plenty of basketball players that can play football and as Kerry know, there are plenty of Tyronemen that can play football. :)

Nope, a one goal wonder would have basked in the glory of his 4 assists against longford and folded to a seasoned campainer like Bellew. He is no shrinking violet, this man is a real competitor in the ilk of the Bomber, Spillane or Fitzy. Dublin - Be afraid... be very afraid.

How about diver or actor? While I admire his ability in the air, he is only going looking for trouble by the way he acts on a pitch. He whinged all through Saturday becuase he felt he was being ill treated and to be honest, he acted like a spoilt child when he reacted to Paul Hearty after his goal. The final straw for me was when he took a dive after Ciaran McKeever glanced off him after the alleged stamping incident with Declan O'Sullivan.

Good player but far from the player that the Bomber was!

I agree he has issues with his on the fields antics, but I feel he controls them reasonably well (contrast Galvin / Toal for instance).
I think the in your face agression is a breath of fresh air into the GAA. The players who ramble off the same old cliche's and display the same ancient modesty have gotten very tiring. Donaghy wears his passion on his slleve and I feel he will be recognised for that.
When considering his antics in hearty's face after the goal, which had the country's media attention at the time and much mention since, I think you should be aware that before the throw in, Donaghy was in position and Bellew and Hearty were jogging into position. As is customary Donaghy reached out his hand to both men as they jogged passed. Bellew shook it as is the calibre of his character, Hearty pushed both man and hand away, lowering the tone of what was overall a gripping duel between Bellew and Donaghy.

I'm not trying to belittle his influence on the game but I've a feeling that things may have been different if Francie hadn't been booked at such an early stage as I feel that he couldn't be as aggressive with Donaghy for fear of a 2nd yellow.

Good luck to the guy but I've read an interesting story that Sean Og O'hAilpin may be asked to do a marking job on him on Sunday week! :p

I thought this was a dive too at first but in fairness it wasnt - McKeever hit him in the bo***x with his fist (not punched) as he was walking away. Also alleged stamping? C'mon. Twas sad to see from McKeever. I didnt really like the reaction to the goal either but in fairness to Donaghy it was his first goal in the Championship and there had been s***e between himself and Hearty all throughout the game.

Agreed again and well spotted, more than anything before half time when the ref pointed the yellow at Bellew, I knew you could stick a fork in him, he was done.
Kiernan should have done something. He could have swapped Bellew and Hearty at this point, should have put the big no.1 on him, I think its standard operating procedure in Tyrone to swap booked players marking target men (minor final year before - 4 Tyrone men booked tackling the same Kerry full forward O'Sullivan) The occasion might have been too big or Bellews legend too unapproachable, maybe as the saying goes, it takes any manager to change a loosing team and a really brilliant one to change a winning side.
I am going to try ignore that O'Halpin rumour so I can digest my lunch.

What I couldn't understand about the stamping (sorry for the use of the word alleged) was that Declan O'Sullivan reached for his ribcage rather than his groin when he went down even though I thought the stamp would have been more painful. Can you point me in the direction of footage showing McKeever making contact with his downstairs as I was in the Upper Hogan with a great view of the incident and after watching the TV coverage last night, I still think he made an absolute meal of it and did himself no favours in the eyes of neutrals.

I thought of that too, but face it, you are not going to grab yer nuts in front of 53,000 people, but you will buckle up and that is what he did.

He is known as "Star" since he was in secondary school, its not because people thought he was that good, he never even played it in school, only played basketball, its because he wore this Orlando magic jacket non stop for years with a big Star on the back.

A pointless fact but thought i would say it anyway, for the point that you think he may be a legend, i hope he becomes one, he is a sound genuine guy that has made some strides in a couple of years in regards to his footbal.
Hope he continues to improve for Kerrys sake

His lack of discipline as displayed after scoring the goal against Armagh should preclude him from an All Star award............ no matter how many goals he scores in the rest of the Championship. If he was offended against first, let him forgive and forget learn self control and discipline, show sportsmanship and truly be an All Star. In the meantime it would seem he has a lot to learn.

Are you even in the right section, this is the GAA thread, are you looking for the religon or philisophy or psychobabble thread.

Yawn - If it was all about forgivness, sure we need never have gone back to Dublin, Kerry could have forgiven Armagh, said a prayer for them in Pugin's fine Cathedral in Killarney and saved the train & busfare. :D
No make no mistake, it was all about revenge and that is an altogeter more boisterous affair... . ...

I know lets call him 'death'

''And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.''
    Revelation 6:8

I used to play with a guy whose nickname was death :D

I can vouch for the above and that he has a great competitive-never say die attitude. He was the captain of my under 16 Irish Basketball team, he is a great leader and it wouldn't surprise me to see him captain them soon enough.
