The mods aren't open for 24hrs at your service. Try a different browser.

This happens very regularly for me!
Its not a daytime/high use thing either.
I find that at about 3am it grinds to a halt.

3am is when boards is goes through its backup phase, its normally done in around 35-40 minutes.

That explains it. It is really bad at that time.
Though it took about 30 seconds for boards to open just now.
Seems to just slow down from time to time.

The homepage is only working intermittantly for me.
If I leave it alone it loads after a minute or two.
I'm using IE6, and no I won't be changing browsers.

As above, ecksor stated that it's an issue with the ad. server (Nothing he or the admins can do really). Presumably, it'll be looked at tomorrow.

I just tested in IE-> it loads each time, after about 30seconds+
Have you tried blocking the offending server? (hosts, firewall, etc.?)

I'm not complaining by any means, just providing statistical feedback.
Also I don't think it fair to advise people to block ad-server as they are a source of income for Boards.

It was suggested as a temporary fix only. I didn't see the need to spell it out at the time.

Oh I know that, I'm not pointing the finger at you at all. It was suggested previously, months ago, by someone else and I can't help feeling that a significant number of posters have Ad-Server blocked and that can't be good for hits/revenue.
