    I have a sky + box and have the remote link (magic eye) or whatever its called for using the remote in other rooms

    i also have a 2nd box with freeview etc on it

    my question is can i connetc these 2 boxes in series thru the rf outputs so i can use both remote in other rooms or could there be a voltage "clash" between the 2 outputs
    i'd try it but fear doing damage
    any thoughts???

    Assuming the RF chain is as follows...

    Box1 -> Box2 -> other rooms

    you should enable the RF2 voltage on Box2 only.. i.e the one that feeds the cable to the other room. Obviously, you then feed the other room with the RF2 out of Box2.

    Box1 should have its RF2 voltage disabled or indeed just use its RF1 output to the RF In on Box2. That will prevent any risk of damage of one by the other.

    .. this will definitely ensure that the other room can control Box2.. as to what happens on Box1 is anyones guess unless this has been tried before.. but for definite, the above will not damage the equipment. Its essentially the equivalent of what I do with a dreambox feeding into a Sky box via RF chain to an other room.

    BTW: The RF channel of the two boxes will have to be changed to ensure you can tune in each separately in the other room. The hidden menu Services - 401 - Select will allow you change the RF channel and enable/disable the power on the RF2.

    You could as cormac suggests, connect Freesat box to the Sky+ but you'll still only be able to control the Sky+ box from the other room. The simplest solution would be to just buy a Remote Control Extender (eg Powermid) to remotely control the Freesat box.

    These are in the region of €50 or so.
