I'm sorry if this is the wrong place. But I figured that this forum would yield the best results!

I heard that hospitals hire part time people (on a relatively good hourly rate) to push around beds and other general menial tasks that cleaning staff, nurses, doctors don't do. If so, does anyone know how one might apply for such a position? Thanks

If you are called for interview don't refer to the tasks as "menial". A porter's role is vital in many general hospitals. Just because a position does not require any third level qualifications that does not make it menial.

I didn't mean that it wasn't important, just in relation to what the doctors and nurses do for example. Thats why I was interested in the job, because I'd like a part-time job with a purpose.
