So let me get this right:

You have all your data safely backed up and now want to wipe hard drive clean and then reinstall Windows and all your programs?

If I'm right, then just boot PC with the Windows XP install CD. Follow the instructions and to wipe the hard drive you can delete the existing partition, recreate it and format. Then install windows as per usual. Easiest way to do it imo.

I am assuming you are using Windows XP, if so then you can format the hard drive using the Windows installation process. Reboot and pop in the XP CD and during the setup process, you will have the option of formatting your hard drive; choose that option to get rid of the previous Windows installation, and proceed with the reinstall.

    edit: too schlow. :)

You'll have to adjust your bios to boot from cd to install os & make sure you got your drivers. When you boot you re-format before installing os. Make sure you install av & firewall before you connect to net 2 get your windows updates (i presume its windows)

Get a copy of CCleaner to minimize the clutter, works great.
