I re-installed windows and it cant find the drivers for the sound card. It cant find them on the xp cd and i dont have another cd for it. Does anyone know how i can find out the make etc without opening pc and looking at card?

Also i installed this on a seperate hard drive so everything from last windows installation is still there. Can i get the driver from the system folders there?

Well you could boot up off the old installation and check the make/model of the card, then just dl the drivers. I dont know of a way of telling without opening the case..

Use Unknown Devices to identify it, then download drivers.

If its a Dell, etc, there's usually a drivers/resource CD with it, which would have the driver on it (as sometimes its a card made only for Dell, etc :/ ).

If you run CPU-Z http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php it will tell the Mainboard vendor/model/rev etc.
Post it here and one of us will be able to tell you where to get the drivers.

    **EDIT** Hadn't seen Robins post...**EDIT**
