Tickets are on the door each night, we open at 7pm and the first speaker goes on at 8pm... It's best to arrive early and get a good seat and some free gin and tonics, ease you into it!

    Cheers, Richard.

ps. Check out my pdf magazine at http://www.candyculture.net There's 6 issues to download showcasing the very best in Irish and international creativity.

I've been a fan of the Candy magazine for a while but I haven't taken the plunge into Sweet Talks. I think I shall free up some time for these though, looking forward to it already :)

I was at two of them and found it all a bit pretentious in the way of 'promotion for the sake of promotion'. Perhaps the mag and events could have a little more soulful content!

Except that the graphic design industry in Ireland is a bit of a state and anything that drives design forward is welcome.

Depends what you expect from the nights, really. Also depends on who you saw. Some speakers were pretentious, some boring, some a right laugh.

Grand idea altogether, but I usually feel like an outsider at it.

If there's anything you reckon we can do better at SweetTalks to either make you feel more part of it or speakers you would like to see please feel free to send me a mail at richard.seabrooke@dynamo.ie

We try to keep the event as informal as possible, we don't put any restrictions on what the speakers talk about and we try to keep each event set around a theme or style (illustration, motion/animation, music design, illustrative design, graphic design...)... we hope to get more diverse in time, with photography, fashion, advertising, etc. getting covered... if you've a wishlist though do send it on...

    thanks, richard.

Yeah, Rickie, I'd 'heart' to see Experimental Jetset, M/M, Mevis and van Deursen, eh, Wim Crouwel *ahemnoeffnwayitllhappen*, Daniel Eatock. Loads more but I can't remember. Um, photography would be cool. How about Thomas Ruff? Hehehehe. Actually, I dunno. Anyway.

I wonder whether a CandyInDepth, or Candy workshop/seminar series on a theme, but still manage to keep it open and inclusive, and have loads of free booiz.

Sorry my taste is pretty conservative.
