My first photo's for C&C - Zoo

    Finally upgraded to a DSLR a couple of weeks ago so decided to test out my server lack of skills at the Zoo today. I haven't cropped any of the photo's yet so would welcome any pointers on this and any other comments are very welcome.

    As you can see I got the best pics while the penguins where being fed. Everything was shot on a Nikon D50 with a Sigma EX 70-200 HSM 2.8 (which I kept from my film days). I also used a 1.4x converter in some pics.

    I took a lot more than this but was unhappy with a lot of them. I suffer from shaky hands now and again, so a monopod is something I may need to consider for future.

    Quite like the second rhino photograph. All in all some nice photographs.
    I've tried shooting at the zoo and found it difficult not to get people or cage wire in the way.
